A foundation close to home

Support should feel human.

When rent is at risk or a family is stretched thin, finding the right help can feel overwhelming. We are here to make the next step clearer.

Little John’s Castle Foundation is a Washington nonprofit founded in February 2026 to serve families across Pierce, King, and Thurston counties. We focus on practical help, respectful guidance, and connections that strengthen families and communities.

What guides us

To help local families find stability, dignity, and hope.

We connect households with rental assistance, family support, and trusted community resources, meeting people with compassion and helping them move toward a more secure future.

How we help

A little support can change the whole story.

Our work centers on the everyday needs that help families remain safe, stable, and connected.

01

Rental stability

Help navigating rental assistance options and local programs when housing feels uncertain.

03

Resource connections

Clear referrals to trusted organizations, services, and community resources close to home.

Founder & Director
Little John’s Castle Childcare

Kathy’s legacy

The castle was built with care.

Before it became a foundation, Little John’s Castle was a childcare center in Auburn, Washington.

Kathy Wattam founded and directed Little John’s Castle Childcare from 2005 to 2009. Its cheerful world of castles, dragons, and playful illustrations welcomed children with warmth and imagination.

Kathy was born in 1959 and passed away in 2018. The foundation carries the spirit of her work forward by creating a different kind of safe place for families: one built from compassion, practical help, and community.

“A legacy of care, carried forward for local families.”
